Rachel came to PeakBrain after experiencing a concussion in a car accident about 18 months prior. For almost two years, Rachel suffered from the debilitating effects of Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS), including severe migraines and tension headaches, nausea, vertigo, fatigue, anxiety, brain fog and comprehension issues, poor sleep, and emotional volatility. She was unable to attend school full-time or participate in her after-school activities.
Rachel began her program with PeakBrain and after her first few sessions began noticing improvements in her sleep, nausea, headaches, anxiety and cognitive abilities. For the first time, she was no longer waking multiple times a night due to her severe nausea and was able to sleep through the entire night.
Rachel’s post-concussion trauma included difficulties with focus and reading comprehension, a serious hindrance for a high school junior. After her fourth session, Rachel reported improvement in her reading and comprehension:
“I am able to understand and focus more on what I am reading. Continued increase in relaxation and a more positive mood.”
At her 14th session, Rachel said:
“This week I have been much more focused on my school work and I understand all concepts I’m being taught much better. Academically I thrived this week based on my ability to concentrate and understand better. The last time I felt this great was two years ago before my concussion!”
