Duke and Duchess ‘unfollow’ the Queen to support Mental Health

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have unfollowed all of their friends and family in a bold move meant to highlight the importance of Mental Health throughout the month of May. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are following only 16 mental health Instagram accounts, that they deem “pay tribute to all of the incredible work people across the globe are doing in this space.”

This move has received a lot of publicity as the royal couple prepares for the birth of their first child, but this isn’t the couple’s first public support for mental health. On April 10th, Prince Harry announced the Duke of Sussex and Oprah Winfrey are partnering on a mental health series launching on Apple in 2020.

Mental Health issues and the impact they have on each individual, each family, and truly all of society is increasing. To help those in your community (or your own family), we recommend you continue to educate yourself on mental health issues, encourage those struggling to seek treatment, and support and encourage those around you who are struggling.
